Heron skewering a fish
I’ve been trying to get a decent photo of a heron catching a fish for a few years now, and yesterday I managed to get some fairly decent shots. It was a beautiful morning and the light was bright but quite diffused.
Here the heron has skewered the fish with its beak, something that I never knew that they did.
These were taken on a spur of the Grand Canal, near Naas, Co. Kildare.
